Nova Spero: Leo’s new hope
Dedicated to every child whose childhood is marred from ravages of war and strife.
After working with refugee youth, founder Daniel felt the need to raise awareness on the hardships faced by refugee children. For most of us childhood is a time to be carefree, a time to dream. Yet for the 50 million children living in refugee camps around the world, this is not true. While life is complex in refugee camps, there are still complexities in adjusting to a new country as a refugee. This fictional children's book was written to explore this complexity from the view point of a young boy, Leo, who moves from a refugee camp to a city in the United States.
Illustrating this book was a collaborative project with many artists who contributed to illustrate a part of the story. We are grateful to Ms. Kalli Hendrickson who supported our vision and provided artistic direction. We are also thankful to each artist who dedicated their time and talent into making Leo’s story come alive. We hope this will encourage you to view refugees with a fresh set of eyes as it has for us. You can buy this book now on Amazon. All proceeds will go to helping our refugee students and families <3.
